Pastor Bretscher
Pastor David J. Bretscher (rhymes with "stretcher") has been pastor at Beautiful Savior since August 2006; he served as vacancy/interim pastor the year prior to that. He is a 1992 graduate of Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. Before Beautiful Savior he served Immanuel Lutheran Church in Norton, KS for 8 years and Grace Lutheran Church in Lexington, MO for 4. His one year vicarage/internship was spent at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Niles, MI. He is a 1988 graduate of the University of Missouri - St. Louis with a degree in Speech/Communications.
As his father was also a pastor and missionary, Pastor has spent much of his life in different places including outside the US. He has two older brothers with families - one in the LA area of California and the other outside St. Louis. He enjoys the outdoors, warm weather, physical activities, healthy living, good food, humor, music, guitar, and the Cardinals (baseball team not the Roman Catholic hierarchy! :). His passion in ministry is to TELL all the world the GOOD NEWS of JESUS CHRIST! In Him - and only Him - is God's eternal gift of forgiveness and life - for ALL people!
